For the Birds

For the Birds

The For the Birds area of The Lamb's Yard was established in spring 2000 to provide a haven for native and migratory birds. The planting emphasizes native perennials. The water area features two large limestone rocks with a dripper and basin.

Birdhouse style benches give students a perch for observation. Two arches, whimsically decorated with bird houses mark the entrances to the pathways. Bluebirds, mourning doves, mockingbirds and brown-headed nuthatches have made homes in the garden.
An implement bird provides a focal point and adds wintertime color.
