Mrs. Carlisle’s 1st grade class has been learning about goods, services, and saving/spending money. Students earned tickets to save and spend at our very own ice cream shop! They all did a great job using their budgets to make decisions about toppings and extra items. They loved eating the ice cream that they paid for with their tickets.

Mrs. Tison, on behalf of Worth County School District, received one of the $500 PAGE Educator Grants that allowed for the purchase of music-based movement resource books and various movement materials for our students to use during music class. The students will now enjoy activities from Artie Almeida's books and move with a parachute, wrist ribbons, neon scarves, and black lights. Thanks to Ms. Michelle Dechman, PAGE representative, for visiting our music class today and presenting Mrs. Tison with a certificate of Achievement.

Congratulations to our Students of the Week! Each student received a certificate and 10 Lamb Bucks. Way to go little lambs!

Congratulations to our Good Citizens for the month of March! Each student received a certificate, WCPS cup, pencil, and 50 Lamb Bucks! We would like to thank the Kiwanis Club of Sylvester for sponsoring our Good Citizen's Breakfast by providing sausage biscuits and juice for each family.

To culminate their economics unit about goods and services, Mrs. Griffis' kindergarten class created "Griffis' Square" market place. Students offered goods such as artwork, books, and jewelry and services such as face painting, math games, and reading time. Pre K students from Mrs. Goodwin's class visited "Griffis' Square" with pretend money they earned in the classroom for good behavior. Some of our WCPS faculty and staff got in on the fun as well. Back in January, student started our Book Blast Book-raiser. Wednesday, our school participated in our Book Blast event. Each student in our school received at least 1 book to take home as their very own. We counted down from 10 to 1 as all students opened their books together at the same time. It was a great way to celebrate Read Across America week and our love for reading at WCPS.
