Our Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grade students brought the magic of "Balloons Over Broadway" to life with their very own balloon parade throughout WCPS. Inspired by the book's celebration of creativity and the famous Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, our students designed and showcased their own colorful balloon creations to fill our halls with joy! Our 2nd grade students and teachers experienced early Native American life through stations that demonstrated hide painting, face painting, crop planting, jewelry, archery, dance/music, and homes. A special thanks to the WCHS Early Education students, ABAC, Teachers, staff, and volunteers for your help and participation.

Before the break, our 1st grade WCPS students experienced different aspects of colonial living by rotating stations. Students made homemade toys/games, participated in indoor and outdoor chores, planted crops, made butter, learned about quilting, and had a gingerbread story time with Ms. Leigh from the Margaret Jones Public Library. This hands-on learning experience is always so much fun for out little lambs.

Students in Mrs. Lewis’ 1st grade class wrapped up a week of learning about 3D Shapes with a 3D Shapes Show and Tell. Students were asked to bring one real life object to show the class and tell them which 3D shape their real life object represents! This simple, yet fun activity was a great way to extend learning beyond the classroom.
